A Bellydance Journey
Join Raqzia Raqs Sharqi for one unforgettable night as we dance our way across the Middle East — no passport required! In a single evening, five dancers will carry you through twelve living traditions, each one born of a different place and a different rhythm.
We begin on the Mediterranean shores of Alexandria and follow the Nile through village courtyards and the ancient heart of Upper Egypt, into the streets of Cairo and golden-age music halls. From there the journey sweeps outward — the glamour of American cabaret with sword and silk fan veils, the hair-tossing joy of the Arabian Gulf, the earthy styling of dabke — before coming home to the ecstasy of tarab and a thundering drum-solo finale. It's a show about how a single art form transforms with every border it crosses, and how the music of a whole region can live in one…
